Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick on Tuesday 12 May 2026

A visit has been arranged to the Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick on Tuesday 12 May 2026.

A well preserved medieval building which now provides apartments to military veterans.

We will have a guide (often a resident) to the public rooms which have interesting displays, plus the additional historical information from the guide.

The arrangements are :

11:00  meet up in the Grand Hall Café for tea/coffee and whatever else you might like to order

12:00 commence the tour @ £12.00 per head, which takes about an hour to 90 mins.

13:30 lunch in the Grand Hall Café pre-ordered from the menu which I will forward by email.

The café franchise was transferred last week so we are awaiting the proper lunch menu; their website only shows a temporary one to cover the transfer.

We will forward it as soon as we receive it.

The website for the Lord Leycester is https://www.lordleycester.com/

The administrator sent the following information when we reserved the tour:

A member of our team will escort you around the site and gardens, telling the fascinating 900-year history of the property, the Lord Leycester, the Guilds of Warwick, and Brethren life in this historic institution. Tours last roughly 1 hour to 1½ hours.

The tickets are valid only for the day of entry. For Group Guided Tours, we regret we don’t accept Historic Houses passes, Friends passes, or concessions rates. Please note we are unable to process individual transactions payments on the day, as this holds up the group. Instead, closer to the date we will reconfirm numbers with you then send you an invoice for your tour at £12 a head.

We have a café onsite that is open every day from 10am until 5pm (last order’s at 4:30pm).

As a 700 year old building, it is important to understand our accessibility. I noticed on your booking form you may have access needs. We have a lift to the second floor if visitors need it and ramps available at almost all other locations. The 900 year old chapel is only accessible by stairs, but there is an interactive 3D computer model of the chapel for those who cannot access it. There is also a single step down to the Master’s Dining Room. There is limited seating available in some of the rooms for those that need it.

If you have any other questions, please do let me know.

Any questions by email or telephone 01386 438890.

Please let Barry and Gen’e know if you would like to attend
